Day 4

Last day was Shopping Day! We had our usual buffet breakfast spread in the hotel and went we back to take a nap till 10am+. Woke up and started packing our luggage and everything and we proceed to check out.

After check out, we left our luggage with the hotel's luggage storage room and went to Kuta beach and for some shopping at the Discovery Mall.

After staying at Kuta beach for awhile, we walk to Discovery Mall. The mall had Victoria's Secret, Pandora and other well known brands too. Bought a Victoria's Secret Passport Holder at around SGD58 which is cheaper in Singapore and also DFS and Changi Airport.

Went to have cold stone also and its around 50% cheaper than in Singapore. They also had a Havaianas Vending Machine which sells the basic designs of Havaianas.

They had a movie theatre which looks like Cathay Platinum Suites. Its damn high class. Shall try it next time. After shopping for about 2hrs we head to have our lunch.

Went to have our lunch at Railway Restaurant and Bar. We ordered Chinese dishes there and it turns out very nice. The salted egg prawns were fry till flavourful and the meat of the Roasted Pork was so tender. Definitely a good lunch on the last day of our Bali trip.

After lunch, we went back to the hotel and collect our luggage and off we cabbed to the airport. The mode of transport at Bali is all by cab and 1 day with a driver. There are so much more to explore at Bali and most much for food for us to try. 1 visit to Bali is surely not enough. The next time we visit we surely need to have the suckling pig and also try out the water theme park which is Waterbom Bali.

Travelogue: Honeymoon to Bali 10-03-2014 to 13-03-2014 Day 3

Day 3

Day 3 was a long day as a long list of activities was lined up for us.

Day 3 activities:
      ♥ Seawalker Sanur
      ♥ Water Sports Activities
♥ Tour regarding the making of Kopi Luwak (Cat Poop Coffee)
      ♥ Monkey Forest
      ♥ Ubud for good food
♥ Massage at Smart Day Spa

As usual we went to have our buffet breakfast spread at the hotel and went to the hotel lobby to wait for our driver to pick us up for the Seawalker activity.

We had bought the Seawalker activity package from groupon at around SGD50+ each and it includes transport, lunch and insurance. Many water sports company does seawalker activity too but the one we headed to was the famous one which is located at Puri Santrian a Beach Resort and Spa.

The instructor will brief us at first and there will be a boat  to transport us to a larger boat which is the main boat for our Seawalker journey.

The whole journey underneath the sea last about 20mins. Down there we will able to feed the fishes and we even get the chance to grab hold of a star-fish. There will be a railing for us to hold onto under the sea. The sea is actually only 5m deep. It is actually a very safe in the sea as we have very experienced divers. We were also able to keep our faces dry due to the BIG ASTRONAUT HELMET. The helmet is to provide us with oxygen.  We were accompanied by a professional photographer to take all the pretty pictures of us.

It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE walking underneath the sea with fishes swimming around us.

After our Seawalker activity, we had our free lunch and the food was mediocre. Well, photos are deceiving.

We actually booked a driver with us for our 3rd day. It was only IDR 500K for the whole day and we can go anywhere we want. Called the driver to picked us up at the resort and off we go for next activity which was Water Sports! Was so excited too as we had never done it in our lives.

The driver used the expressway to bring us to the destination and their expressway was really EXPRESSWAY. Not many cars was there and it was a smooth journey unlike Singapore's expressway. The motorcyclist had a lane for themselves at the expressway.

The Water Sport company was actually recommended by our guide as there were some other companies which also do water sport activities but without good instructors. Wanted to try the Parasailing but due to weather circumstances, we were not able to do this activity. So we picked 3 activities which are Flying Fish, Banana Boat and Jet Ski. These costs us around USD100+ for 2 pax which includes photos and videos.

Next activity: Banana Boat

The last activity was Jet Ski. BB were to go for a tutorial on riding the Jet Ski for 5mins and for the next 15mins, BB will be riding the Jet Ski with me behind. That was the COOLEST moment for him.

After all the activities, the driver drove us to Ubud which is a 1.5hrs journey from Kuta. On the way there, the driver brought us to a farmer's place where Kopi Luwak was being made.

Fed a lot mosquitoes there with my blood. We also bought 2 coffee as souvenirs from them. And off we continue our journey to Ubud. Reached monkey forest and it was started drizzling but we still continued our monkey forest journey. The tickets was only SGD2 each. We were lucky enough to had finished the monkey forest journey when it started to rain heavily.

Monkeys wondering around everywhere

TIME FOR GOOD FOOD IN OUR TUMMY! When it started to rain, the driver picked us up and off we head to have our Dirty Duck dinner. The duck was crispy on the outside and the meat was tender on the inside.

After our dirty duck dinner we set off to the next place Naughty Nuri's Warung & Grill. This places certainly has the most tender and juicy pork ribs. The pork rib was marinated and grilled till flavourful. The meat is soooo soft that it can be easily removed from the bones. I can have this everyday.

The driver was actually quite shocked when we wanted to eat at 2 different places thinking that what a huge appetite we have. But we ordered everything to share so the amount of food we had was actually not much. After our delicious dinner, the driver drove us back to Kuta which was another 1.5hrs journey.

Back to hotel and that was not the end of our activity yet. Bathed and off we go for massage at Smart Day Spa. Wanted to have the 4 hand massage but the place was too full during that time so we proceed to have just Balinese Massage instead. We choose the 90mins one which cost only IDR 140,000 which is around SGD 15. Damn cheap and good massage.

Travelogue: Honeymoon to Bali 10-03-2014 to 13-03-2014 Day 2

Day 2

Woke up early to have a buffet spread of breakfast before heading to the Bali Safari and Marine Park. We bought the Jungle Hopper package from the hotel which costs us USD49 per adult. It is advisable to have USD when going to Bali cause most of the attractions accepts USD.

  • Animal Show
  • Elephant Show
  • Silver Seat Bali Agung Show

The night safari route is actually the same as Safari Journey during the morning. But during the night it will be a better experience because tigers will jump up to our cage of the truck and we are able to feed the animals which are wondering around.

The Night Safari Package includes:
  • Sunset Chills Cocktail
  • Adrenaline Night Safari in a Cage
  • All you can eat Safari BBQ

The journey of the ride from Kuta to the Safari is actually about an hour plus.

Animal Show

This was a real sleeping lion cub we were touching

Safari Journey was cool cause we were sitting in the tram and the animals were so close to us. Unlike in Singapore, we see the animals from afar.

My favourite animal

The baby one was soooo cute

Bali Agung show was nice but no photos allowed. We had to keep our belongings with them and collect it after the show. We went to explored the whole Safari and even the Waterpark and Fun Zone. Waterpark seems more like for kids and Fun Zone had nothing much. We only played the small roller coaster and trampoline there.

Went to the lounge during evening and wait for our tram to pick us up to the Night Safari. BBQ buffet was provided with a drink each. Went to the toilet and saw the lions sleeping outside the window of the toilet.

This cage is not for animals but for us humans to be in for the whole Night Safari experience.

Tiger right above our cage

Awww...such a cute kitty

BB touching the kitty

Night Safari was fun cause we were able to feed the animals which are walking about and the most exciting part is when the tiger came up to the cage. The zoo keeper attracts the tiger by placing the meat above the cage and it slowly leap up to the cage.

Photo taking with parrots after the journey.

Tata! Thats the end of our Day 2, stay tune for Day 3 :)
