Day 2
The famous Hong Kong drama market 街市 (gai si) just nearby our hotel. Everyday we will pass by this place when walking to the MTR. Their market sells lots of fresh seafood, vegetables and poultry.
Our breakfast of the day should be Mui Kee Congee, but it was close on the day. We won't give up trying this place so we came back another day.
Spotted lots of Hong Kong drama scenes so we took quite a number of pictures while searching for the best Bo Lo Bao in Hong Kong.
YES! This place definitely has the best Bo Lo Bao. Although we didn't try from other places, but this really got us in our heart.
We ordered the Bo Lo Yau 菠蘿油 instead. It is Bo Lo Bao with a thick slab of butter in between. The boy says that Bo Lo Bao itself is already very delicious. The crust is so crispy and it is fluffy inside. Eaten together with the butter will enhance your taste bud as it gives you a pinch of saltiness. It is definitely a good combination and the butter given is also quite thick.
The Bo Lo Bao is really big and it is fresh from the oven. So imagine eating hot and fresh Bo Lo Bao with butter! OMG! It is a perfect breakfast for me. The best part is, it cost only HKD9 which is SGD1.50. Just have it with a cup of milk tea and your perfect morning breakfast is settled!

My itinerary for the day is also lots of eat and shop. Went to sneakers street 波鞋街 to get shoes for the boy and his friend. The whole street is really heaven for people who wish to purchase sneakers. You can hop from shops to shops but the prices are about the same. If you pay by OCBC card, you can also choose to SGD currency.

Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon
How to get there: MTR Mong Kok Station, Exit D3. Walk along Argyle Street to Fa Yuen Street
The boy took a photo of the super cute Hong Kong's ambulance.
We went to ladies street, but also didn't spent much time there. So we headed to Argyle Centre (New Town Mall) as I researched online that it resembles Platinum Mall or our Bugis Street.
When you are at Argyle Centre, of course must eat Bai Wei Mian right?! It was our first time trying cold noodle but we swear this is damn nice with their special sauce. You can choose from their different flavours of noodle and add the various ingredients you like.
We ordered the original noodle with Cuttlefish, Corn, Pork Neck Meat and Sausage. Everything is nice except for the sausage. It had a very weird taste. The boy likes the Cuttlefish and corn and I like mine with Pork Neck Meat and corn. You must order the pork neck meat because its so YUMMY! The lady will then mixed everything with the sauce together for you.

At Hong Kong, we are like typical tourist taking photos with every MTR station we been too. Hong Kong people must be thinking whats so nice to take just like us thinking to tourist that whats so nice to take in Singapore's train :D
We are at Sham Sui Po for only 1 reason which is to patron the One Starred Michelin Tim Ho Wan! Not all Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong is awarded with Michelin Star and since my research tells me that most of them patron this outlet, so we came here too.
Read from various blogs that the queue can go up to an hour or more when there's a crowd. We came here at about 3pm so we were seated right away :D
At Tim Ho Wan, one cannot missed the oh-so-famous char siew bun. It is definitely more cheaper than Singapore. It only cost HKD19 which is SGD3.20. That's only SGD1 for each bun. The char siew bun had a crispy crust outside and full of char siew flavour inside. The char siew is also sweet and juicy.
The siew mai and har gow were also filled with prawns. Lots and lots of prawns. Hong Kong dim sum's chef is really not stingy in putting their ingredients.
The Boy LOVES the porridge here so much! The porridge consist of lean meat and the meat is definitely tender. Yeap! Its definitely a comfort food for the boy.
Our meal consist of 6 dishes and its only a total of HKD129 which is SGD22. Try ordering 6 dishes in Singapore's tim ho wan and see if your bill will be less than SGD25?

After lunch, we headed to Tsim Sha Tsui to purchase the original Jenny Cookie. We are carrying lots of shopping bags with us and the Tin of the Jenny Cookie is not light at all! There are unauthentic shops outside selling Jenny Cookies. So do take note as there are only 2 branches in Hong Kong. Usually you will spot a long queue at the shop but we went there at late afternoon so that explains the emptiness. But after we paid for our purchase, a snake queue started forming outside.
We bought the 4 mix butter cookie. They come in sizes of small and large. For small it is HKD 70 (SGD 12) and large HKD 130 (SGD 22).
There are Puffy Butter, Butter, Raisin and Coffee flavour in the tin. The boy and I love the Puffy butter one super much. Its so soft and nice to be eaten. For those who loves butter cookies, you will love Jenny Bakery.
I just checked out their website and they are available in 2 mix or butter only flavour. Yay to those who only wants butter cookies.
With the cute tin, this makes a perfect souvenir back for your family, friends, relatives or colleagues.
I will list down their website and branches below for your reference.

See! We really spam photos at every MTR Station we been to. We are going to have our most expensive dinner throughout the trip at North Point.
Tung Po 東寶小館 is a dai pai dong located inside a building at the 2nd level. The 1st level is a wet market. There are quite a number of cooked food stall located at the level but most of the diners patron Tung Po.
Anthony Bourdain a famous chef also tried out Tung Po and had some of his famous dishes. Tung Po is actually famous for their Squid Ink Pasta but both of us doesn't fancy squid ink so squid ink lovers can actually try it cause I heard its really good.
We ordered 3 dishes and the bill came to HKD 384 (SGD 66). What we ordered are dishes which Tung Po are famous for. Fried Pork Knuckle 南乳炸豬手, Duck Lotus Rice 鴨汁荷葉飯 and Wind Sand Chicken 風沙雞.
Should have ordered 2 plain rice instead of the duck lotus rice cause the small version can actually be shared by 4-5 person. The duck lotus rice tastes like your home cook soya sauce rice with chicken and mushrooms.
Pork Knuckle was good but better when you dip it with the sauce provided, it's better! The sauce enhances the taste of the pork knuckle. Pork Knuckle consist a great deal of collagen which is great for your skin. So we should eat more to keep your skin supple.
The highlight of our dinner is WIND SAND CHICKEN! Direct translate from 風沙雞 HKD 200 (SGD 34) for half a chicken. The chicken meat is fry till tender and crispy skin and it is sprinkle with garlic. The meat is easily separated from the bone. So tender that it will melt in your mouth.
Tung Po is a very lively Dai Pai Dong as the boss will play music out loud and everyone will sing along with him. All prices of the dish will be stated in the menu accept for seafood which is seasonal price. They do accept reservations but if there's only 2 of you, then you do not need to reserve as you can always share table with others.

After dinner, of course must take photos again with the Hong Kong drama feel. We then proceeded to look for the famous Ji Dan Zai 雞蛋仔 in Hong Kong.
This brand of Ji Dan Zai is so famous that many of the Hong Kong celebrity had been to this place. They actually have quite a number of outlets stated on the paper bag but we went to the better branch at North Point itself.
The Egglet is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The egglet is the less sweeter version as me and the boy likes it to be sweeter. But it is still good to be eaten one by one and pop each of it into your mouth.

The night is still young at Causeway Bay. You know why? Cause they had a SIX FUCKING LEVEL of Forever 21 there and the best part is it opens till 1am.
Didn't shop there for long and only bought 1 over-size tee which I wore to Universal Studios Singapore here:
Our day is of course not ended yet without any dessert. Hehe ^^ So we went to a famous dessert shop near our hotel to end our day sweetly.
Excited to see the Hong Kong drama Police Car cause my boy is a Hong Kong drama fanatic.

Chung Kee Dessert is always filled with people when it comes to night around 10pm. Told you Hong Kongese sleep late and seems like they can go work anytime in the morning.
Mango Shaved Ice 芒果棉棉冰 HKD 46 (SGD 7.90). You will be able to choose 2 toppings and a choice of sauce. We chose the rainbow jelly and oreo as topping and caramel for sauce.
The Mango Shaved Ice is really DAMN GOOD! The ice is the soft kind that will melt in your mouth like cotton candy and not those ice kachang or other dessert's ice that you will still be able to taste the ice. It comes with fruits at the bottom as well. The mango ice goes so well with caramel sauce. A great refreshing dessert after a long day of walk under the sun and heat.
The boy takeaway his favourite Yang Zhi Gan Lu 杨枝甘露 back and he likes it a lot too.
*A tip for everyone* Please do not say da bao 打包 if you wants your food to be takeaway in Hong Kong because it means packing a dead body. Please use dai zhou 带走 or ling zau 拎走 (in Cantonese).
