Travelogue: Hong Kong Trip with BB 09-06-2015 to 13-06-2015 Day 4

Day 4

Day 4 will be our last full day in Hong Kong. So of course, we will cover more for food and must go places.

OOTD for Day 4. Leggo!

Started our day at this well known place. Im sure this place is not stranger for those who have done your research for Hong Kong's trip. And Im sure you know what they are famous for. Just type best scrambled eggs in Hong Kong in Google and Australia Dairy Company will be the first result.

If you are a Hong Kong Drama fan, especially the Police Dramas, you will sure know this guy. He always acted as a gangster in some black society 黑社會.
When we were sitted, I saw him walking out from the toilet right in front of us. And I immediately tell the boy excitedly. Although he always acted small roles, but still a Hong Kong Celeb that we bump into at this place.

First dish served to us was this Steamed Egg White Pudding with Milk 蛋白燉鮮奶
HKD 26 (SGD 4.40).
We ordered the cold one to share and the pudding was so smooth and it is sweet. We do like it but I think just order 1 and share cause you might get sick of it if you had the whole bowl to yourself unless you really like it.

We ordered the fast food set which is available throughout the day. There are 2 other sets which includes macaroni but both of us doesn't like it so we ordered this. This set consist of toasts, eggs and a drink.
You can choose whether you want your bread to be toasted or not. And for the eggs, they will ask if you want it Fried 炒 or Pan-Fried 煎. Please say 炒 if you wish to have scrambled eggs else it will be a normal fried egg.
You should totally try the scrambled eggs here because it taste so heavenly! It really tasted different from all other places. I wonder why some of the reviews state that it tasted normal and they can even make it themselves. Its either their taste buds got problem or they think too highly of themselves. The taste is really unique and you definitely have to try it in Hong Kong.
But well, everyone's preference is different. So maybe if you feed them Kobe Beef, they will still say it tastes like chicken.

The set 快餐 is HKD 32 (SGD 5.50). If you wish to change it to ice milk tea or ice lemon tea, it will be additional HKD 2.

After breakfast, we still have stomach space for food. So I decided to go back to Mong Kok and check out Mui Kee Congee.

Ordered a bowl of Fish Belly Congee 魚腩粥 to share HKD 35 (SGD 6). It is one of the hot picks. The serving of the porridge is actually quite big.
The congee is actually very smooth as well as the fish. Note that the congee is cook upon ordering. So the waiting time can be quite long. But it is so good to have a piping hot bowl of smooth porridge.
The fish does not have any fishy taste but it consists of little bones. So do be careful when eating.

Be sure to order a bowl of You Tiao 油條 because it was sooooo good. It is crispy and eaten well with the congee.

We did some shopping at Langham Place. There's H&M as well. The shopping is just like Ion with all the branded goods.

Went to Kai Kei Snack 佳記小食 to buy some snacks. Its day 4 and finally we tried the curry fish balls. Saw quite a number of bloggers patronizing this store so we came here too.
The curry fish balls  is the starchy kind an not those bouncy QQ kind we had for steamboats. And its also DAMN SPICY!!! One bite, and its like fire burning in your mouth. A small bowl of curry fish balls cost HKD 18 (SGD 3) and it consist of at least 10 fish balls in it. We ate 5 pieces and threw the rest away cause we can't take it. But if you like spicy stuff, you might like this.

Ordered fried large intestine 脆皮炸大腸 for the boy HKD 13 (SGD 2). The boy likes it a lot. He says that its fry till crispy on the outside and still chewy inside.

Can't take the spiciness so we ordered Gong Cha Milk Tea just beside the stall. Bought the large cup and its so nice and refreshing.

Went to Sogo at Causeway Bay to buy Lao Po Bing 老婆餅 (Wife Cake). One of the most famous Lao Po Bing outlet is at Sogo and near our hotel as well.

Hang Heung 恆香老餅家. Just google for Hong Kong Wife Cake and Hang Heung will appear at the top. This Wife Cake is really good. It got approved by so many of us when we brought it home. Im seriously missing this Lao Po Bing right now.
Their Lao Po Bing is freshly baked and the shelf-life is only a week's time. There will be an expiry date pasted on the box.
I like the flaky pastry and the sweetness of winter melon filling inside is just nice. The filling inside is pudding like and it combines so well with the flaky pastry.

It comes with a box of 6 for HKD 39 (SGD 6.70). The boy, my mum and so many of us really likes this. Be sure to hand carry it back because you won't want it to crushed in your luggage and made a mess. And be sure to buy it when you are leaving Hong Kong due to the 1 week shelf-life. There are a total of 5 outlets for Hang Heung stated in the website which I will put below.

We did some shopping at Sogo and Hysan Place as well. Hysan Place has the biggest Apple outlet in Hong Kong.
We went back to hotel to put down our buys and off we go for dinner.

Joy Hing is another roasted goose shop. Quite a number of China Tourist patronizing this place. Ordered a roasted duck rice and a roasted goose drum for the boy.
The roasted duck rice looks plain at first. But we realise you have to add in the sauce yourself provided on the table to the rice. After adding the sauce, it makes so much difference! Duck meat was okay but we preferred goose meat more.

Ordered roasted goose drum for the boy without chopping it. The goose doesn't looks as appealing as Yat Lok's but still roasted good enough. But we definitely prefer Yat Lok more :)

The foodie us definitely went on to search for this ice cream place which I really wanted to visit.

Oddies Foodies! Sinful much? NO! They had lots of creative ice creams.
I once saw this in a blog and made a note that I definitely have to eat this.
We ordered the Night Wolf: Italian low fat gelato twisted with 66% dark chocolate, served with buttery crumbles, caramelised banana ice cream, passionfruit panna cotta, brownie and chocolate chip eggettes. It cost HKD 49 (SGD 8.40).

The eggette is made upon ordering. So you get fresh made eggette with ice cream. I enjoy tearing the eggette one by one and dipping it to the ice cream with chocolate sauce and pop each of it in my mouth.

After dessert, its time for some sightseeing. Hong Kong is all about eat and sightseeing right?

Yeap! We are heading to the Avenue of Stars.

Avenue of Stars is along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui. It honors the celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry.

The view is definitely magnificent but please do not waste your time waiting for the Symphony of Lights show but instead proceed to walk down the streets to look for your favourite celebrity's hand print.
The Symphony of Lights show is around 15mins and all it has is they will be introducing you the different buildings from Hong Kong island and the respective building will display its light patterns. Quite boring for us so we went to look for BRUCE LEE!

We definitely had fun identifying the different hand prints of the celebrity. It is even more fun when the streets are empty as most of them will be watching the lights.
The first one we saw was Bruce Lee's :D

Its better to come at night as the weather is more cooling and the copper made statues wont be so hot. The night view is definitely more beautiful.

Hey hi Louis Koo

Avenue of stars is easy to locate. When you alighted at Tsim Sha Tsui station, follow the exit to Avenue of Stars and follow the crowd. Haha :D
Intended to bring the boy to take the ferry to Central Pier but the Tsim Sha Tsui's ferry pier is at the other end. So we proceeded to take train instead. Shall take the ferry on the next trip :)

What to do on a weekend night? Lan Kwai Fong of course! We went there to have a feel of the atmosphere.
Lan Kwai Fong is literally a slope uphill with lots of bars. I think I won't be able to wear heels and walk all the way up and down. The slope is actually quite steep.

Went to 7-11 to buy a bottle of alcohol to add up the feel but it contains only 5% alcohol :D Definitely no kick at all. But the drink is actually quite nice and taste like apple juice. Best part is it is the same price as Pokka's Ice Lemon Tea you purchase in Singapore's 7-11. It cost HKD 14 (SGD 2.40).

After exploring Lan Kwai Fong, brought the boy to have ramen since we are not full yet.

YES! IT'S ICHIRAN RAMEN! THE BEST RAMEN IN TOWN! HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY!

It is known to be the best ramen in Japan and it made its debut in Hong Kong. The best part is it's located at Causeway Bay! Again, near our hotel :D
Most of their stock, noodles and ingredients are delivered directly from the Japanese HQ central kitchen.
Each seats are segregated so it allows you to concentrate on your ramen. Its perfect for those who is coming alone because you won't get stares from others.

We are there at around 10pm+ and we waited for around an hour before we get a sit.

In Ichiran, you won't be able to see the waiter's face who is serving you. They will also bow down 90degree after they served you the bowl of ramen. Im lucky that the chef came and served me the bowl of ramen and he speaks a huge chunk of Japanese which I don't understand at all :D
The chef are Japanese and all of the staff have a SOP to follow.

Each seat will have its own water dispenser.

I ordered mine with their special sauce which is spicy but I love it. The boy ordered it without the sauce.
Look at the broth! Just look at the broth! Makes me crave so much for it now :( The boy will crave for it too when he reads this :D
The noodle is cooked till so well and it is springy. The broth's thickness is just right. I wonder how some can order Kaedama (adding of noodle) when the soup is sooo good. Because if you order Kaedama, you will need to leave half of your soup as they won't add the soup for you.

The boy finishes every bit of his ramen. YES! EVERY SINGLE BIT! He almost eat up the bowl as well :D
The boy drank finish all the soup and not a single drip was left. It is the first time I see the boy enjoying a bowl of noodle so much!
It will be a regret if we didn't visit this place for the trip and now Ichiran had a best ramen place in the boy's heart. No other Singapore's ramen we tried can win it!

A bowl of ramen cost only HKD 89 (SGD 15) and best part is it opens 24 hours all day everyday! If Ichiran were to place its debut here in Singapore, I'm sure we can have this for supper at least once a week. Someone please franchise it to Singapore :(

How can we not have dessert after a meal right? Went to Dessert Playground just beside Cong Sao Star Dessert to buy the cake back and the boy had his mango dessert from Cong Sao again.

Bought the Mao San Wang Mille Crepe 貓山王榴槤千層班戟 back. How can you say no to durian crepe cake right?
Let me tell you! The cake is so fabulous! It feels more like eating durian's meat rather than a cake. I wonder how many durians they need to use in order to make this cake.
Every layer is filled with durian!!! Durian lover will sure love this!

For the Mao San Wang Mille Crepe will cost HKD 88 (SGD 15) while the D24 Mille Crepe cost HKD 44 (SGD 7.50). The MSW Mille Crepe is a cost for another bowl of Ramen :D

They are had other flavours of Mille Crepe like Mango. Saw the reviews that the Mango Flavour is recommended as well.
