Travelogue: BB's 19th Birthday to Bangkok 24-09-2014 to 28-09-2014 Day 4

Bangkok Trip Day 4

Day 4 is a Saturday! So its time for Chatuchak weekend market. Its mandatory to get Coconut Ice Cream from Chatuchak and it is soooo good to have it when the weather in Bangkok is so hot.

The famous Coconut Ice Cream is the one with a flag on top. The stall is also decorated with lots of coconuts hanging at the top. They also give a free cup of coconut juice for each ice cream purchase. The ice cream is served in a coconut shell and you can choose 2 toppings. The ice cream is so refreshing to have it and it has the milky and coconut flavour in it.

Direction to this place: Between Section 1 and 2 near Kamphaeng Phet Mrt Station

After walking around Chatuchak, there are not much things for us so we headed to Union Mall instead. For Union Mall, you had to take the MRT instead of BTS. MRT is all underground in Bangkok. Union Mall is located 2 stops away from Mo Chit Mrt Station.

Nearest MRT station to Union Mall: Phathom Yuthin

So we had our lunch at MK Restaurant. Almost every shopping mall in Bangkok has MK Restaurant. Its like McDonald's there. MK Steamboat is actually very affordable there compared to Singapore's. Every item will be ala-carte. The ingredients are fresh and yummy.

And what's going to MK Restaurant without having their Signature Roasted Duck?! We ordered the Roasted Platter which comes with Roasted Duck, Meat and Char Siew. We both preferred the Roasted Duck a lot. The duck is so tender and juicy and it goes so well the sweet gravy. Their gravy goes well with anything.

Had these egg waffles which is addictive. Every bite is crunchy and fluffy inside. The queue is quite long for this stall as well.

This can be found at Level 2 of Union Mall

Union Mall had everything for both guys and ladies. The boy got a lot of shorts and shirts from there. Everything is more trendy here as lots of Thai Youngsters visit this mall.

We had Ban Khun Mae for dinner which is just located opposite Siam Square. Loving authentic Thai cuisine like this.

They had decent Pad Thai, the taste is just right for my liking. The boy had the Baked Rice in Pineapple it was pretty decent as well. The spring roll with shrimp is crunchy and nice with juicy shrimps.

This is the STAR of the meal. Deep fried marinated chicken wrapped with pandan. The chicken was well fry till tender and succulent. Almost every table will be ordering this dish.

Durian Cake

Mango Yogurt Cake

Our last stop of the day will be Coffee Beans By Dao for dessert. We waited around 45mins before we get a table. Went there to try their Durian cake and we ordered another mango yogurt cake. Durian lovers should really try this! Loving the creamy taste of Durian in my mouth.

The mango yogurt cake tasted decent, not so much to rave about.
